Boeing Stock Price: The 787 Dreamliner Is the Key

The world’s larger manufacturer of military aircraft and commercial jetliners, Boeing now has customers in over 90 countries. It is one of the top exporters in terms of sales in the United States. Boeing is also manufacturers electronic and defense systems, satellites, missiles, launch vehicles, and rotorcraft. Currently, the Boeing stock price seems to rise and fall with each release of information about the 787 Dreamliner.

Recently, the Boeing stock price has started to make an impressive ascent, as it recovered from the August 2009 low. Hovering around $56 a share, it is a great improvement from the few dollars it was worth just a few short months ago. The first flight of the impressive 787 Dreamliner in December 2009 is one of the main reasons why investors are holding onto this stock at the present time.

A 28-month delay in this first flight significantly affected the Boeing stock price, but the first Dreamliner is set to be released to All Nippon Airways in Japan by the end of 2010.

The History of Boeing

William Edward Boeing started out building floatplanes in Washington State in 1915. By 1916, Boeing named his business Pacific Aero Products Co and within a year, the name was changed to the Boeing Airline Co. With the First Word War, the United State Navy placed an order for 50 of Boeing’s Model C’s, but once the war was over, the company began assembling furniture and other items to make the business survive.

By 1929, the company produced its first passenger aircraft, the Model 80, which had three engines and could carry 12 passengers. The Second World War brought a new wave of orders for aircraft and Boeing continued to grow. Boeing branched out into many different areas during the next decades, including missiles, satellites and space travel components, and more innovative military aircraft.

Current Boeing Information

Today, the Boeing stock price is relatively stable; however, any type of aviation mishap sends the Boeing stock price down. The new 787 Dreamliner is a testament to how far the company has come in the last few decades, as this aircraft is the epitome of class, luxury, and speed. When delivered, this airliner will make a huge impact on the aviation world, as it is more fuel-efficient than its close counterparts are, but it also continues to define Boeing as an aerospace leader.

What the Boeing stock price doesn’t tell you is that this company employs 157,000 people in over 70 countries. While the Boeing stock price does seem to fluctuate greatly during some times of aviation disasters or military spending cutbacks, it is a rather silent, strong, level performer.

Some Things to Consider about the Boeing Stock Price

While it is always uncertain what the future will bring, Boeing continues to be on the cutting edge of other technologies, including lasers, new aircraft and helicopter designs, defense systems, even providing the transportation for components and software to the International Space Station. With many countries looking to add to their inventories in terms of passenger and military aircraft, and to get their feet into space programs, it’s a pretty good bet that when the Boeing stock price is down, it won’t be for long.

Boeing Stock Price Tip #1: Watch for delays for the 787 Dreamliner, as this is almost a guarantee of a falling stock price.

Boeing Stock Price Tip #2: Speak to your stockbroker about what the future holds this year for Boeing. However, do your own research, too. It’s always best to stay informed.

Boeing Stock Price Tip #3: If the 787 Dreamliner is delivered without further problem, then you may see an increase in the Boeing stock price. If you own or are looking to own this stock, it’s certainly worth keeping an eye on it.
